Frankincense (Olibanum)
Frankincense, also known as olibanum, is obtained by tapping Boswellia trees, primarily found in regions like Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya. Frankincense is harvested through making small incisions in the bark of the Boswellia tree, allowing the tree to exude a milky resin. This resin hardens over time when exposed to air, forming tear-shaped crystals. After a few weeks, harvesters return to collect the hardened resin, which is then sorted based on quality and purity. For centuries, frankincense has been treasured for its profound spiritual significance, natural healing benefits, and captivating aroma. From ancient rituals to modern wellness, its legacy endures as a timeless gift from nature. Today, it remains a vital commodity in aromatherapy, natural medicine and ethical trade. Frankincense supports joint health by reducing stiffness and enhancing mobility, promoting comfort and ease in movement. Frankincense essential oil is a prized ingredient in cosmetics, known for its rejuvenating and restorative benefits. It supports skin renewal, promoting a youthful glow while aiding in natural healing. Widely used in massage therapy and holistic wellness, it enhances relaxation, balances the mind, and nurtures overall well-being.
